I have been trying to find a set of very strong light wheels for my 997 TT. Alas, I can't find a set I really like so I am looking for suggestions.

 

Try Champion (brand), HRE, Forgeline.

Hey Boca....our wheels are all 100% fully forged using a pretty unique process and also some of the lightest wheels on the market. In fact, I think our RS98 is still the lightest 19 inch Porsche wheel on the market (or in the top 3 for sure!). In 19x9.0 it's only 19.02 lbs, and in 19x12.0 it's 20.61 lbs. The 8.5/11.5 combo weighs in at a mere 18.07/19.97 lbs!! And it looks GREAT!!

Do I even want to ask what those Champion wheels cost...

 

Without talking directly about pricing (which we're not allowed to do unless we're in the classified forum), I can tell that our wheels are very competitively priced when compared to other wheels of equal quality (i.e. BBS, HRE, etc).

 

I run the OZ's as mentioned above, great wheel and wallet friendly.

 

The quest for lightness becomes exponentially more expensive and marginally beneficent the lighter you want to get! Your budget will primarily dictate lightness.

AG Forged recently introduced their 3 piece forged function series that come standard with back pad machining, side spoke pocketing and titanium fasteners for a price below anything on the market right now.

The 996 Turbo shown here weigh in at 20.4 lbs for the 19x8.5" fronts and 22.3 lbs for the 19x11.5" rears.

The lightest wheel that I am aware of are the OZ Superforgiatas, 5 bolt pattern weights 15.9 lbs front, 19.8 lbs rear, lighter than the BBS FIs (16.4 pounds and 19.7 pounds.)

The unsprung weight saved from OEM wheels is enormous - nearly 30 lbs.
