Left/Right side Radiators - aftermarket options?
Left/Right side Radiators - aftermarket options?
I just found out that my left side water/coolant radiator has a small leak - needs to be replaced.
Factory charges $900 for the piece.
So from what I can tell, the 997 turbo radiator (both sides) is the same for 997GT2's and 996TT/GT2.
The non turbo 911's use a different type with hoses at different positions.
Cheapest I can find is $450, Part No: 99610613172.
Does that sound right? Has anyone heard of any other aftermarket, more efficient options available?

Same boat, just bought 2 radiators aftermarket from AutoAtlanta, I paid $500 each. Once my DRLs arrive Monday, I'll ripping off front bumper to replace. Funny how both went same time for me, mine as well replace both.
Hmm - yup that's the price I have (service center), $575 for the front left radiator.
Interesting thing is that its a small leak, and tomorrow I leave for a 4 day trip through the Rockies.
I was getting my suspension tuned when the shop discovered the leak, got me all worried as I don't have any time before I depart to order anything (tomorrow morning). Interesting thing was that I never saw any indication of a leak until my mechanic brought it up (a puddle formed under the car - which was on a lift).
Could it be that having the car on a lift stretched some part of the radiator to cause it to leak out a little bit? There seems to be a small crack in the radiator tank.
Any way - nothing came out this evening after a hard ride, and now she's sitting overnight. Will be interesting if a puddle forms.
Hoping it will be OK to take her for the extended mountain trip without a big surprise of a coolant leak mid way.

I have 1 radiator replaced. I see why they go bad, you should have seen the crap that gets stuck in the outer lower corners. It was packed full of rotting leaves, bugs, rocks, etc. Will tackle other side tonight and then the DRLs go on tomorrow. Fun stuff tearing apart a Porsche!
