thats why you need the steering wheel control module to make it work...
I did my homework 2 years ago when my first installation was made...
bad thing is that if you buy a new pdk steering wheel control module from porsche it wont play...
you need to find a second hand with specific hardware/software label on it to operate on 07/08/09 tip cars...I ve done it to any MY tip car...even at 05 carrera s...
Can you share what are the procedures required for coding? Mine 997.1TT is 2007
Seems it is more complicated for this year to do the swap.
Received the new wheel from FVD.net and new steering contol module (as per part number listed many times here).
Guys at local Porsche service are not able to make it "PDK-ready" through piwis.
Thanks in advance for any clues

Some dealers are not very familiar with the coding aspect of piwis. It can be done but you need to find a shop that knows the ins and outs of the piwis. Not just doing resets and checking codes. I had a indy that did coding for track cars do mine. They need to basically tell the car it is a pdk.

They believe the issue might be with the gearbox itself, perhaps it was reflashed or even changed before as they did not find VIN within the identification info of the tiptronic. PIWIS sees the signals from the paddles, horn and airbag work fine, but seems that gearbox is not willing to respond to these commands.
I also had some doubts about the control module. I received the rebuild steering wheel from fvd.net and they also supplied with it some small electronic module, which I could not identify. The description stated that "this is all you need for upgrade". I had the big steering control module anyway, the one that is mentioned in the thread, so they are trying it in different configurations.
As for their level of competence - I have doubts that there are guys who could possibly make it better here

Old post I know, BUT I am having an issue I think. The new wheel doesn't go on as far as the old wheel. It actually looks like the spline part of the wheel is deeper on the new one. Has nobody had this issue? Did I somehow get the wrong wheel? I already swapped the new electronic part out, but the wheel just doesn't sit back on as far as the factory one.

I’ll take a look at mine when I get my car back tomorrow. As long as the wheel is seated securely and the bolt is torqued to spec, I don’t think it’s an issue.
