Hi guys,
Im thinking of picking up a 4x4 truck and Im leaning toward the Tundra double-cab 5.7 TRD package right now. Is this my best choice out of all the trucks out there and why? I'll be using for some off-roads activity & some towing. Thank you all for your expertise to this subject as I am a noob.

If you end up getting an enclosed trailer then you will need a HD truck. I've owned all brands of HD diesel trucks. Currently I have a 2010 dodge 3500 Cummins. I'd say you would be fine in a 250 or 2500 series.
If the F250 is good enough for the human trafficers and drug smugglers then I think it wil do just fine for your needs. #1 stolen vechilce here in Houston for just those reasons.
I have had 2 and they are great trucks!!

J , i had a 2011 raptor and got out of my f-250 honestly just sold my raptor and going back to f-250 . you cant beat it gas towing will drain your pockets and no power . Diesel all day !

I would go with the Tundra. I am a bit biased here. I could of easily stepped into any of the other trucks, and I really was set on purchasing the F250 also. After test driving it, it would be a hard truck to just drive anywhere because of its sheer size. The power was unbelievable though.
I do a winter vacation trip to mammoth yearly and I've gotten caught in 2 blizzards before in my Tundra Rockwarrior edition and it handled it just fine. The double cab tundra is huge and the rear seats have lots of adjustability where on long hauls the rear passengers can recline and sleep.

I've done this comparison several times, and we pull horse trailers. Your needs are really going to define the truck. You can't beat an F250. I have had one since 2003. But it is more than we need for most things, including pulling a two horse bumper pull trailer. The last time we traded, I landed on a Sequoia because not only did it have the wheelbase length and power, but cargo space. The other two in the running were the Navigator and the Escalade (surprisingly to me). My daughter has a Tundra for the same reasons. Better power/wheelbase combination than anything in the 150/1500 truck series. There may be upgrades since 2010 that tilt the odds in favor of another, but we have been very happy with these vehicles for their purposes.
In my opinion, you can't go wrong with a full size GM. I had 263,000 on my '93 K2500 when I got rid of it, and it was still running strong. Nothing more than regular maintenance, and a few alternators and starters, but only paid for one each as they were guaranteed by AutoZone. Also one fuel pump.
Every Ford product that I ever had was a dog, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I'll second the GM, get a Denali Sierra and you get a really nice interior too. We have a Denali XL and it has been very good for us. I have pulled an 18' car trailer across country several times and you can hardly tell it is back there. It has a separate Tow mode too. If you are doing tons of towing, then the diesel is the way to go. I tow once a month or so and the big V-8 does great.
