TSB Question
TSB Question
Hi All,
Quick question regarding the following TSB which seems to cover most 2007-2009 turbos: "W902 - Reworking Adjustment Mechanism for Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG)"
The TSB shows the following 2007 VINs are affected
USA 2007 911 Turbo/GT2 (997)
WP0AD29927S783102 to WP0AD29967S786908
My Question is if my VIN is WP0AD29997S7868XX do I fall in this range? Are the last 6 digits all that matter? if so I guess I fall in the band
In any case if I call a Porsche dealer with my VIN and the associated TSB can they check to see if the previous owner completed the service?
thanks

Thanks guys, I just had the car inspected thoroughly during a PPI this past Wednesday and all was reported to be in good working order. I even asked the lady at the service desk to run a VIN check for any open recalls and it was clean. Is there a difference between "recalls" and "TSBs"?
I'll double check with them this morning to confirm. BTW what would be a symptom if one of these turbo actuator rods were sticking?
thanks

A recall is a repair that the dealer will fix free of charge. Most often a safety hazard.
A TSB is a technical service bulitin. This is used as a technician note. If they are searching for a problem, and there are common reports of the same issus, they will issue a TSB. It aids in diagnostics. A TSB is not a recall. It will not be done unless needed, and is not done for free, unless it is a warranty repair.
