There are some great sounding exuausts out there that makes this a tough decision however there is one glaring issue to be aware of. Most will, after time, trigger a CEL despite being marketed that it wont. Ive been there, done that.

The Europipe not only sounds great but it will never trigger a CEL not only due to the cat used but the design of the exhaust itself and placement of the post cat sensors. There is nothing more annyoing than a post cat CEL. For this reason I would recommend the Europipe.

Many have moved on to the Europipe like myself from other exhausts, its a good product.

Ahh ok.. so this CEL issue creeps in after time. I thought it either worked or didnt!?

What is the CEL and can you make it go away with a softronic tune? Thats what I was going to do as soon as I pt the exhaust on?

Do you think the Agency power race cats 200 CEL and the titanium muffler bypass pipes is a bad decision? If so why?

I am pretty sure the tuned file allows you to run catless even.

It may work for 5 or 10,000m but then crop up, as mine did with the Cargraphic and as others have experienced with a wide variety of exhausts out there. If someone says 'mine has been fine for 4 years, no issues', be sure to ask if the owner drives 2,000m or 8,000m a year! This is not an age issue but usage (miles) issue.

You can turn off the post cat sensor with a tune, but then you may run into SMOG test issues when two sensors dont report back data during the test.

If you are going to tune it then you dont have this concern of CELs, make sure they are turned off.

HOWEVER, get it in writing or from a current owner that you will pass your local emisions 'sniffer' testing, or move on to another exhaust. Tuned 996 and 997 turbos are passing CA emmisions testing with these exhausts on and tunes. For me thats peace of mind but it all depends on your local regulations.

Well mine has been fine for 3-4 years and the car has 42,000 miles.

Haha I dont have to worry too much about smog issues in London. I used to run a straight through exhaust system for 3 years on my big single Supra and I had a friendly MOT man who never used to check my emissions because he knew.

I do however have a Porsche warrantly so need to be careful about what I do as I really dont want to void it by doing things that will be found out easily. I was planning on keeping the stock exhaust and reinstalling it should any warranty issues need dealing with.

I was planning a softronic tune and the Agency power race cats 200 CEL and the titanium muffler bypass pipes. When I need to have a service or warranty work flash the car back to stock and switch out the exhaust?

Here's my review on the stage 1 europipe. Stage 2 can be had in quiet and normal with better flowing cats and larger pipes for more power.

Here is the power gains I saw with a custom tune and just the europipes. As you can see, even at stage 1, the europipe flows very well.

I have been very happy with the sound of my Switzer Performance Innovation (SPI) P700 package. If I remember correctly, their ECU tuning is based on Softronic tune, so you can start with the P600 package, and upgrade to higher HP kits when you are ready.

Your tune probably has the post cat sensors turned off. Mine were not turned off initially and thus threw the code after 14,000 or so miles.

This was based on what evidence please - the "most" part? There are several people with multiple brands of exhaust on this forum: FVD, GMG, AWE, Cargraphic, Tubi, Switzer, Akrapovic, etc. Do most of these have problems with CEL?

While I certainly agree that CEL problems occur, it's an exaggeration to imply that most after-market exhausts will run into problems, except for certain brand "A".

GIAC turning off post cat sensor? This is not standard practice and I am fairly certain GIAC doesn't do it - anyone pls correct me if I'm wrong. Really g, it *is* possible for another exhaust brand to go for 40,000 miles without CEL, without any trick, my car being living proof :-).

Sure you had a CEL problem, but in your car, were you able to rule out that it wasn't the tune that caused the problem? Could the cat be damaged as a result of the tune? Maybe something in the exhaust itself was broke for whatever reason? etc., etc. Regardless, I don't see how that incident translates to most after-market exhausts eventually triggering CEL.
