Need Center Cap help

I bought set of D2 Forged wheels and to have custom center caps made with the same polished. They screwed up and haven't been able to deliver the caps for over 6 months. They sent me the wheels and the cheap OEM plastic caps to hold me over until the real caps were made. Well they bailed on doing anything and these plastic caps look like crap in the wheels.

Vivid is trying to find me some caps, since I bought it through them but with no progress in 3 months.

I've searched extensively and not having luck. I could use any help to find somebody who makes a metal cap that can be finished in the brushed aluminum and fit in my wheel which has OEM size. If somebody makes them, I would even go with something that is not a Porsche crest to avoid the Porsche branding police.

I like the wheels but it burns deep that I didn't get what I ordered and spent a boat load.

Thanks, any help is appreciated.

Try Boothe

SharkWerks got me a set and sent them to HRE to have them finished to match my satin black P43's. If the center cap size is standard, then get a set in brushed or get a polished set without the logo installed, get them brushed, and install the logo yourself.

Did you pay for the center caps? Did they agree to supply you with proper caps on the agreed price? If so, they owe you a proper set of center caps.

Interesting idea, not sure how the red would look, but I guess those could be painted.

Tried Boothe, the guy went off on how Porsche is screwing him over and can get stuff done anymore.
I'll call SharkWerks tomorrow.

You don't know half the battle, yes I paid for them and a receipt showing what I paid for. D2Forged's own billet caps are a different size then OEM. But they made the wheels to fit OEM caps and hence we are in this problem. I'm talking to my attorney on my options. But if I can find somewhere to get them done for what my refund would be, not worth the battle yet..

So keep the help coming, I really appreciate it. I just want to look at my car and not be pi$$ed off. This is what it looks like.

Those center caps look like great! I love my HREs, BUT was unimpressed with the plastic center caps. This forum costs me $$$ everytime I log on!!!

Love the "Knight Rider" theme in the Boothe video. Not sure if I'll go for 'No-Turn Center Caps', but it's so music is so appropriate with the upright logo!

Wow, D2 Forged is bailing on center caps. That is just BAD business. Hope this gets sorted and at the end of the day, trade laws are on your side. Good luck.

slaaw is infamous around these parts
Indeed! I was considering a set of their wheels but they're off the list now.

We'll see how it ends up but I don't blame you (lots to ammo to back up my feelings)

I contacted Rennline, interesting to have that GT3 center lock look on a regular wheel. But would anybody who knows anything say that looks cheesy?

Called Ralph Boothe, boy, get ready for a long chat, funny ol guy. He thinks he can get me polished and will send them un-assembled so I could get the finished done correctly before putting the crest in. Not thrill on the ring around them.

Can you post a larger pic of the wheel? What is the color? Have you tried adding the factory turbo center caps from the .1? They are plastic but have the brushed aluminum finish of the wheel...Silly thought, but I dont know what the color of your wheels is, looks machined alu, not the dark smoke color.

The wheels are brushed aluminum with a clear coat. I added 2 more pics, the original .1 cap has more a chrome feel and the OEM plastic crap, I mean cap they sent has a silver feel to it. both don't look good in the wheel.

Custie,
Just so you don't feel like we are screwing you here. We sent you a metal 993 turbo cap (turbo script). If this fits we can get them brushed and should be good to go.

I know its been a headache and it has taken much to long. I apologize 100% for that. I'll email you tracking.

It sounds like it's D2Forged that are not stepping up to the plate not you guys at Vivid Racing.

D2 worked on a solution and unfortunately we should of never been given the green light.

We still have some options but we need to see if the metal 993 cap works. D2 did send the customer the Porsche caps in the right picture and refunded us for the caps that were supposed to get cut. Just looking for another option that is perfect for the customer.
