Is this normal...?

Hello,

So I've been looking into boost for quite some time and I took the car out today and noticed something that I'm not sure if its normal...

The car is a Porsche 911 Turbo S 2012.

So I noticed that when I have the car in Sport Plus mode, and I press the gas to the floor, I see 14 PSI. BUT if I take off Sport Plus mode, and leave it without any sport mode on, and press the gas to the floor, I see 17 PSI all the time, does not go down from 17.

Is that normal? Shouldn't it be the other way around? Shouldn't I be seeing 17 in Sport Plus as well?

If this is not normal, what can be causing this?

Thank you very much.

From my understanding no it's not normal. The turbo S should definitely be at 17 psi in sport plus mode.

Mario, the car will not go full boost at all speeds/RPMs. I'm trying to decipher this as well, but I suspect you're at a different rev range in Sport Plus than when you are in Sport, and this is leading to the differences in boost. That said, a pull from 60mph-100mph with the throttle wide open should give you the full 1.2 bar in any mode.

I will try that out!

I did a pull from 25 mph to around 85-90 mph only and didn't see full boost... Jumped a lot but mostly 14 psi... But I will try that you said!

The weird thing that I can't understand is why in normal mode, without any Sport mode on, I see 17 psi always... But the car doesn't feel as aggressive as sport plus and 14 psi...

Since you're seeing full boost in some modes, that seems to rule out a leak or any other physical issue...

That's what I thought, but if it isn't a physical issue, then the problem would be ECU related? I would have to make some logs to find out?
