997TT SSK Issue

Running into a small issue with my OEM short shifter. Drove the car this weekend for the first time in over a month. 2, 4th and 6th are a a challenge even with the car warmed up. Not sure if the car sitting for a while along with big temp shifts have somehow caused this, either way curious if anyone has any input before is goes back to the dealer.

Thanks.

which SSK do you have? I've seen some of the knock-off B&M ones come apart over the years If it's a B&M that'd be unusual or a factory one doesn't seem to fail?

Its the OEM shifter. It's been about 6 or so weeks since I last drove it and when I last parked it there was no issue. Is and alignment issue or somehow the cable inside the shifter stiffened up while not being used, also interesting to note that 1, 3, and 5th, and reverise all engage normally.

Roger that.. yeah if it's the factory one I'd honestly pull the center console off and check the install. Never seen those fail before so it might be an install error.

Dealer is going to have a look at it, just curious if this issue is somehow related to the time the car has been siting, I would some the answer is no, if so one helluva conincedence.

Root cause is the counter balance weight fell off from the gear linkage and got wedged up next to the transmission case.

Waiting on an 8D report and corrective action but you know how these things go, typically operator/installer error.
