They show that the steering angle sensor is part of that think you plug the steering wheel into on the steering column.

It remains part of the column when you remove the steering wheel,... and as such,.. shouldn't have been affected by a wheel swap. For sure when I swapped my wheel 2 years ago I didn't have to calibrate anything.

Can it even be done with a Durametirc Enthusiast?
The Steering angle sensor is in the clock spring which protrudes into the steering wheel and the connector is plugged in to. Some people need to have the steering angle sensor re-calibrated after a wheel change, others don't. It cannot be reset with the durametric. If it does not auto calibrate, it will have to be re-calibrated on a rack with the PIWIS tool.

Went for another drive yesterday. The PSM failure message turned off by itself.

All is well.

For you guys that are wondering if the new 991 steering wheels will work on our 997s the answer is plug and play without the steering wheel controls and on mine an 09' the horn works as well. I have this same wheel in my other vehicles and I like it.

the 991 steering wheel looks killer. I'm guessing new clock spring is needed and likely some other parts to get the steering wheel controls working?

On my 09' I bolted it right in and the horn worked. I didn't change anything.

I just bought the steering wheel and the Round airbag. The steering wheel that I bought had been reworked by one of the steering wheels guys so it is fatter and flat bottom with perforated leather on sides. Both were 1500 and I put it on myself.

Most of the 991 steering wheels I see for sale have paddle shifters. Can I just remove those, or do I need to find one without them? My car is manual 997.1

You need to find one out of a manual car. Cayman GTS, GT4 or a 911. 991.2 is what mine came out of according to who I bought it off of. You can get them on Ebay as well. The pdk ones have holes in the back section for the paddles, you can't use those.

Horn Issue - 997.2 sports wheel in 997.2

Hey folks! I just replaced the triangle airbag multifunction wheel in my 997.1 with the 997.2 GTS wheel without multifunction. The install went fine but now the new wheel and airbag is in, the horn sounds constantly when I turn the ignition on. Any ideas? Did I put the wiring in incorrectly? Do I need the newer control module that goes inside the steering column? Thanks!

Horn sounds as in a beep? When turning on or off? Any tune on the car?

Mine was different where the horn would beep when I turned off the car. Just one beep and no one had experienced this before. After trial and error,, I found out it had something to do with my tune once I programmed the steering wheel feature to multi functional. I have sport design wheel btw. I had to remove the tune and change the sequence on how the ecu is programmed. So, no tune, set steering wheel function to multi function then re apply tune.

I installed a Macan/991 wheel in my 6 speed with a new shroud 95B-419-798-B-5Q0 after removing the paddles.
