my 2011 997.2 black on bronze build thread...
After spending weeks on searchagent I finally settled on a basalt black metallic 2011 TTS with 3500 miles. I had it shipped from Florida. This forum was a huge aid in helping me figure out which options I wanted.
Speed wise this is quite an upgrade over my 2008 Cayman S.
That said, ive never been one to leave well enough alone...
Mods completed or in the works
Things i'd like to do soonish
When it first arrived:
small updates since then:
new front lip/sideskirts.
i'll keep this thread updated. Thanks for all the great advice i've already received.

Mods completed or in the works
- replace painted front aero lip with factory front chin spoiler
- replace painted side skirts with GT2 side skirts
- Custom set of 20in Bronze Modulare B18 monoblocks
Things i'd like to do soonish
- get a custom 911tuning exhaust made. I want a blacked out catted dual tip exhaust.
- "Aluminum-Look Grille Set" has to go. I can't believe people pay $$$ for this option. If it wasn't so expensive I would have already rattle can painted it. I'm either going to plastidip it or have a sign shop vinyl wrap the pieces. I already took the ones off under the headlights and it already looks much better.
- red-seat belts? cant believe how much i miss them. my cayman has them and i love em.
- some sort of reflash and some good software for data logging... im still on the fence about a BMC air filter
- springs? I have to see what it looks like once the wheels are mounted.

Thx! Well i treat front lips like disposable wear items. Since the factory aero kit is so expensive, i figure id hang onto it while it's in good shape, and re-install it before trade-in.

Very nice purchase indeed !! You will love the 997.2, very curious oh how you will like it compared to the Cayman. So is the Cayman going to become a track car or the daily driver ? I would also consider some Clear Euro Side Markers if you haven't already.

I need to order tires. The wheels are 20x12 for the rear and 20x8.5 for the front.
the most common size I see searching here is 325/25/20 and 245/30/20.
I ran those sizes through the miata.net's calculator and the overall diameter is off quite a bit! - http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
This is my first AWD Porsche but on my other AWD cars, the front and rear diameters needed to match. Is that not the case for these cars? Thanks. Ill post pics when the wheels arrive this week.
Update: answered my own question. the OEM tire sizes don't have the same rolling diameter either.
