Mechanical difference between 997.2 TT and TTS
From what I can tell from the owners manual and what the dealer said, if you have the sport chrono on a TT and enable sport mode then the engine makes the same power as the TTS does all the time. It's actually the same HP just a 35 ft/lb tq difference. Wife has a 997.2 6spd w/sport chrono. Dealer said and I quote "If you don't buy any other option get the sport chrono otherwise you throw away 35ft/lb torque and no way to get it".
All that being said, the rpm range you actually get full power from a factory tune is pretty narrow, a 3rd party tune will make that wider and probably more hp/tq.

If you look at a dyno graph of HP/TQ & BOOST, you'll see that full boost of 1.2 bar is only maintained about 1000-1500 rpm. It's not because the turbo's don't have the capacity, it's because the tune limits it pretty significantly. Hence narrow.
A good 3rd party tune will open that 1.2 [or more] bar level up to a wider RPM range like 2500+.
The limiting factor on a 997.2 is fuel, with a secondary issue of PDK if you have that. Both are pretty expensive to upgrade. Big boost = big fuel. Big boost = big TQ. Clutches are *relatively* inexpensive.

THe aftermarket tune can void the warranty so on a car close to 180K +/- this can be a major factor.
