The bummer here is that HRE is going to take a month+ to get me 2 new wheels.

The set I have has a small silver pin stripe around the lip. HRE said they cannot match it even though they came like that from them initially. So now I either need to wait a month and spend $3200 for 2 wheels that won't perfectly match the other 2 on the car.... or buy a brand new $7000 set of wheels....

Does this sound illogical to anyone?

Lon- Thoughts?

You should be able to find a wheel shop that can match the pinstripe once you get the wheels. I've seen a vendor do it in the past where they spin the wheel on a lathe and apply a thin stripe. I'm on the west coast so wouldn't be able to tell you about any vendors in your area.

As for the damage, was it just curb rash or were the wheels bent in any way? If curb rash, that's one of the reasons why I like multi piece wheels. You can always just have the lip replaced

Get the wheels without pin stripes and take it to a reputable shop to do it for you. It will not be perfect but many people won't be able to tell the difference that you pin striped one side at a later time (except you and those of us who know what happened). Personally, I wouldn't buy the whole new set of duplicates unless you plan on switching to different set of wheels.

Just out of curiosity, was it a street curb? I am very surprised how you didn't mess up your sides nor fenders.

Put 2 previous wheels on 1 side and the new pair on the opposite and do away with the pinstripe altogether. Done and Done.

I came at the curb driving sideways at a slight angle. First contact was with front wheel which pushed the front away from the curb.... The rear was still coming and was the next to kiss the curb and bounce off. Overall pretty lucky with only a small nick on my side skirt and 2 bent wheels.
