GT2 Wheels

I see may wheel discussions on the site but still not sure what wheels to purchase. I was thinking of a set of split rims but maybe these are becoming dated now although they look ace on the 993's I have yet to see a nice set on a 997. I know its all down to preference I guess.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction as to who would be a good shop to deal with as I'm not sure on if fitting a bigger wheel is the best way to go and I see discussions on spacers and offsets my mind is boggled? Also maybe getting rid of the Cup sport tyres and opting for PZeros for the road (GT2 dont go on the track) maybe a better option. Thanks

To chose from you have HRE, Oz Racing, BBS, ADV.1. And then many other wheel manufacturers to chose from.

If you want bling then you can't beat the 2piece and 3piece but if its about performance then you want a 1piece forged or mono block wheel. The best wheel IMO for performance vs cost is the Oz racing Ultraleggra hlt.

If you want modern bling then ADV.1 and HRE or old school bling go for BBS! These companies also do lightweight wheels too but cost a lot more !

BBS F1 are the only wheels I would consider for mine. They are pricey!

I would check with GMG. I have their wheels on my car and love them. They are also very knowledgable on what is the best type, size etc for your purpose. I am a big fan of their stuff, because it's not just for show, but for go. They are big racers their and run a first rate shop.

I am also looking for wheels for my 997TT. It came with Avus M02 three piece wheels and although they look great they are getting a bit worn in places. One thing that comes to my mind when you buy wheels is what do you do if you damage one and the manufacturer doesn't make them any more?? Or if they are three piece wheels and you can't get the tool to repair them?

Yeah although I think BBS would sell parts for their wheels for a while and a few wheel refurbishers maybe able to help. I must say the BBS F1's are growing on me, didn't like them at first but do now, need to put some overtime in though to pay for them
