Is this real?
Hello everyone,
A friend of mine just sent me an E-Mail, that contains a letter from Porsche about Centerlocks. He also linked a video to YouTube where it shows a Porsche at the track and the Centerlock failing... So I'm not sure if this is for every Porsche out there, or just some?
Here's the pictures of the letter;

Anyways, kind of makes me worry because I have my Porsche with Centerlock and I'm not sure if I should be worrying about changing parts? Mine is a 2012 model.

No my friend does not have a Porsche, he only sent me the E-Mail because it was sent to him by someone, and he knows I have Centerlocks.
The letter is not directed to him, I'm guessing it's a letter to someone who passed it out to everyone?
From what I've been able to find, there was a Recall on this for 2010-2011 models, but can't seem to find much more. The weird thing is that the letter on the pictures says December 2012?

My good friend has a 2010 GT3 w center locks.... He mentioned something about a recall. I dint pay a lot of attention because I dont have centerlocks. Ill ask him to elaborate.
Why is it I wonder, that both the PCCB and the center locks....being high end Porsche options are basicly crap and cause way more of a headache than they are worth?

Well I had PCCB on my GT2...I hated them. After much resesrch I found lots of true track guys swap the PCCB rotors to steel. I believe the newer ones may be better but Im no expert.
I bought my TTS in April of 2011 w/ center locks and shortly thereafter received a "Supplement to the Owner's Manual" adding a paragraph entitled "Driving on the race circuit..." basically advising owner to make sure they pay greater attention to all wheel components if you're racing/tracking the car. It also changed torque rating from370 ftlb.(500Nm) to 444 ftlb. (600 Nm). I would call PNA and have them send you supplement.

There has been a recall from the factory about tightening the centerlocks.True amount is 600 nm i believe.
Also .2 pccb brakes are much stronger and also usable when pads are not even hot.

I did try doing a search, and like I mentioned I could only find 2010 - 2011 Recall information.
So I guess my real question would be, do the 2012 models come with the same "Problem"? I ask because we drive a lot of roads here with curves at high speed, and if this is an issue I would definitely like to know if I should take action.
My 2012 was manufactured in about June-July this year.

According to the PDF that Chuck posted, all vehicles 2010+ with CL wheels at minimum require additional precautions and greater tightening torque.
