Launching my Turbo S

I'm still getting used to the Turbo S and yesterday I decided to show a couple buddies how she launches. However, I didn't get very good traction and it only spun all 4 tires in first gear while hardly moving forward, paused, and then it took off in second gear. I even tried it again without "launch control" and I just floored it....same thing happened.

It was about 50 degrees F outside and I'm attributing the fact that it didn't hook up the tires in first gear is because of this colder weather/colder streets. Also, it didn't help that there was almost 600 lbs of people in the car.

Please let me know if my thoughts are correct. Is it just hard to launch the Turbo S in colder weather?
I know in my C6 ZO6 I get ZERO traction in the same weather, but I was hoping for more with AWD.

.....Or, am I doing something wrong??

(BTW, I left all the traction controls, etc. ON, placed in Sport Plus, held brake, floored gas, released brake when revs leveled out at 5,500 or whatever.)

Thanks!

One post mentioned turning traction control off, but I don't know if that will help or make it worse. Were the tires warmed up?

My Turbo S also spins, but mine doesn't spin all 4 tires and doesn't move forward... It does spin, tires screech, and then it just launches hard.

I've only ever done Launch Control with me and one other person inside.

I really doubt there's any way you can be doing something wrong... What you said are the correct procedures for a launch control. I turn Traction control off but I've done it with it on as well.

Maybe just weather or the road etc don't help... Try it again by yourself, and maybe on a different spot?

Might be the cold weather as mentioned earlier. I've never had that problem with mine but it's somewhat warmer here.

The oil temp needs to be at a certian rage for the Lauch control to engage so if it was not warmed up yet then lauch control wont engage

The car had already been driven a while and the oil temp was about 190.

I always turn the traction off when I use launch control. If your tires are ice cold they aren't going to hook up right away with that much power regardless of the awd or what you turn on/off.
