Rear view mirror, auto dim

This may sound petty, but I can't find anything in search, google, or the owners manual. Pissing me off... The auto dim function of my mirrors doesn't work. When pressing the switch on the rear view, the LED doesn't come on. Dug through the manual, pulled the fuse cover off and read the small book there regarding fuse location with no mention of the mirrors. Anyone have some knowledge here?

Has it ever worked - i.e., you do have that option? Any chance someone tapped into the power for a radar detector and disconnected?

I have only had the car for a week. The first time a truck was behind me blinding me, I went to figure it out and nothing when pressing the auto button. After flipping through the manual, I saw that the LED should come on when depressed, and realize that is not happening. Obviously there is a power supply problem. Logically I wanted to check the fuse first but cant find a fuse location labeled for such.

Hi There...

Not sure if this will help. I am thinking the fuse you may want to check is the one indicated here? Not positive, but worth a try. Good luck.

Now that would be a step in the right direction! Thanks... Yes, apparently being "dazzled" is my issue... who in the hell thought of that anyways, anti-dazzle So where exactly did you find this info? And are these locations referring to the fuse panel in the drivers kick panel?

Hi There.

I have lots of documentation on the various P-Cars I have and had..This is in fact in the kick panel. It is row C (from top) and just go over 6 spaces to the 15A and see how it looks. May not be the issue, but you will at least rule it out..and as you search, you know what buzz word to use now...No worse than PDK = (Porsche DoppelKupplung) "Double Clutch" Good luck.

Remember that when this is turned on the LED lights up, but it takes about 15 -20 seconds for the dimming to occur if conditions trigger it. Once dimmed, it usually stays on for the whole trip for me.

Thank you again for your help. This was in fact the key to my success! I was excited to check it out and low and behold, the fuse wasn't even there!!! Why in the world it would be removed is beyond me. But gladly my prediction was correct, but I would have not figured out where exactly to look whiteout your help!
