Question Transforming a 997.1TT to achieve 997.2TT-S power

What will it take to transform a 997.1TT to have the power of a 997.2TT-S? Intake, exhaust, tune, bigger turbos, etc? Can this be done relatively easily and on a limited budget of $10-15k?

Thanks.

Im sure you will get the answer you are looking for....power wise, but power isnt all the Turbo S is about. The PDK is a huge part of the Turbo S equation. 997TT's with more power are routinely punished by S cars based purely on the insanity of the PDK's ability to translate the power into "fastness". Looking forward to answers...

Thank you for your input. I definitely understand the benefits of PDK, but have a personal preference for 3 pedals in my cars.

I run an FVD race exhaust, tune, headers, 82mm plenum, gt3 tb and drop in BMC filter. It will destroy a 997.2 S.

Im sorry to break your bubbles but you WONT destroy any TTS. I had an 09 w/tune, GMG exhaust, IPD plenum/TB/Ypipe, Fabspeed intake and CG headers and it's NO where near the TTS off the line, it will possibly catch up past the 1/4 mile mark but the TTS is amazingly fast off the line with its LC configuration. Human can not row gears faster than the computer.

Destroy? I think not. Get destroyed from a stop and maybe pull a car or two on a roll-on into the triple digits would be closer to the truth.

I have an 08 Tiptronic. However, I'm a bit confused by your statement. You say that you have a TTS and are comparing to another TTS? Manual vs PDK?

My modded 09TT was a 6spd, my current turbo is a 13TTS and it's only available in PDK. At times, I do miss my 6spd dearly but when Im stuck in down town traffic, I dont miss it at all...

The new dual clutch semi-auto transmission are amazing in terms of performance and drivetrain efficiency, if you're losing only 7% of 530HP compared to 13% of 480HP well you do the math...

I suggest a tune, exhaust, TB. After doing research I am not sold on any of the headers on the market. That said, you simply cannot beat the PDK in efficiency and speed of shifting - it's what makes the PDK cars run 10's with "only" 530HP out of the box...

If all you care about is "speed" that you get on a 1/4 drag strips or from racing from stop light to stop light, you've got a bit of work to do.

If you care about "speed" that you get from driving every single day where you DON'T redline every gear and do clutch dumps from a stop, then the mods like sub-zero mentioned will get you 997.2 TT-S power or better
