Sport Shifter/ Short Throw Shift
Oem is nice although we've been doing the numeric (which is adjustable etc..):

I went the OEM SSK route. Very easy to drop in.
If I had to do it again I'd try the Numeric package. It was not around when I bought my OEM SSK a few years ago. Looks like it comes with the shifter and housing just like the oem ssk and pretty much drops right in.
I still might swap over to it, selling my old OEM shift setup and OEM SSK to make up some of the $$ investment.

OEM is a fine product....we offer the B&M kit for a reason as well, and many tuners will chime on in this at some point - it's a bulletproof, machined-bushings (not plastic like OE), million-mile warranty product for a reason. Either is good and will significantly improve your driving enjoyment.

Eric, I thought B&M kit fits 996, but does not fit in 997 well? I personally know of one 997 that has B&M kit and I vaguely recall some problem with one of the gear - can't remember what exactly though.
For OP, I use OEM SSK from Suncoast or Sunset Porsche. Works very well, fits perfectly, and makes a significant improvement (heavier but more precise and sporty). Highest recommendation.
