Which Would You Rather: '10/'11 TT Stage 1 or '11 TTS Stock?
My truly beloved car is 6spd 997.1 Turbo with Champion motorsports full werx pkg, turbo upgrade, exhaust/headers, etc with ~ 800 on 94 octane gas.
This car feels like driving an explosion & compared to my recently acquired 997.2 Turbo S, which is refined & very quick. The 997.1 seems to have exponential power available, it seems to still accelerate well past 150mph, even 200mph. If you want just quick 0 -> 100 & smooth driving then go 997.2. If it's raw tremendous power you desire & bulletproof engine -> 997.1

I agree with G-Force above...it depends on what the purpose of the car is for you. I already have silly fast crazy HP 6speed car...WAY more fun to drive & way faster the TTS. If I could have only 1 I'd go with the obnoxiously fast modded car, the TTS is a sleeper, ton of fun DD that you could hop in and drive across the country without thinking twice. Either decision is a great one, life is short, have fun with your new toy!
I am not really interested in doing crazy mods. I'm just looking for a short drive DD and weekend toy with a few DE days per year. Basically either the TT or TTS will both be great, but I'd like the TTs for a little extra uuuumppph and maybe a bit more unique. Just as long as it's not an unreasonable premium over the TT.
However, I hesitate because I kind of want the PDK for the techie wizardry, but a part of me also wants a manual for the fun of it. Also not sure I want he centerlocks. So its either a 5-lug 6-speed TT or a PDK centerlock TTS and I'm not sure which one I REALLY want.
So with the 991TT coming out later this year, does anyone think that we will see the TTS around $100k over the winter? That's going to be the budget.

I know for a fact you'll be able to buy a TTS for a little over $100k if you look hard enough & find one with a reasonable amount of miles once the 991 Turbo hits the streets, hell I might sell you mine if there is enough of a performance jump to coax me into a 991...my guess though is that it will have to be a 991TTS that gets me to switch. I love my 997, but if the new one is hitting sub 2.5sec 0-60 and a 10.0 1/4mile times right off the dealer's floor, that would be too hard to pass up!
In that case, keep it clean and let's talk later
Although seeing the videos of TTS doing launch control starts and my mind is having a hard time even comprehending sub-2.5sec starts and 10.0 qtr in a "normal" road going car.

Blk/Blk & she will still be in prestine condition I promise! I hear you on perfomance on these cars with a full factory warranty. 6 years ago, a car that could hit 60 in 3.3 seconds was considered insanely fast (and it is!) I love the HP wars going on, we are truly living through the muscle car era right now if you ask me!
Not all the TT-S are ordered with the center-lock wheels. I came across quite a few on the net that came with the regular 5-lug Turbo II wheels. I was also contemplating getting a TT-S now but the rationality told me that I should just put down a deposit for the 991 TT-S and wait. Most of the ones that I see now are in the high 130s to 140s range, which seems to be slightly over priced IMHO.
Mine has the 5 lug turbo II wheels...I think they look way better, but just my .02 cents. $130-$140 is high you can do better, but I think the 991's will be pushin north of 200k for the new tts. There is going to have to be a signifacant perfomance increase to sway guys like myself to trade up. The problem is it will have to be pushing Veyron territory type #'s (I hope they do!)

Come on go put your down-payment on the 991 TT-S!
