Help!! Softronic turn the engine light on
Leo delete your post 59 with my quote and use the advice in post 58 which i have since edited.
I dug back into my memory bank and edited the procedure so just follow that once you've got yourself set up properly and lets see how you get on. I'm pretty sure we can get you through this ok

Thank you
No sweat. Just remember the sequences. It is of utmost importance that the ECU be asleep to reset prior to each re load attempt. Set up must have power and all connections 110% robust and operational. GL.
This time I used a pro to do my upload.
Been following the saga of all your issues Leo - sorry to see that. Maybe you went too fast - CAI on and off, exhaust you don't like and now the tune problems. I'm sure you'll get it all sorted but your experiences are good lessons for all of us - go slow with mods and do research. Hope to hear good news from you soon.
Sorry for the issues yet it is hard to offer help so late at this time. I would have suggested to check the faults and most likely replace the spark plugs and keep the file in as loaded on the 5th. Having a tuned file in for CP work is not an issue.
The Durametric function comes with all the cables and you can download it at Durametric.com and install it as per the instructions. This is what would be used to check the faults in which I would agree by the posts is from old spark plugs and would show this P0300 and any and or all these P0301,P0302,P0303,P0304,P0305 and P0306. The 300 is Misfires in general and the last number on the others is which cylinder.
The programming aspect of the DME is fairly simple yet an issue can happen when certain things are done like not unzipping the file or having the battery go to a very low voltage when flashing or hitting the cable and or laptop etc in which causes the plug to come out or abort the process while it is going. The 997TT only takes about 1 minute to flash so the battery is not loaded as much as other flashes.
This does not apply to the DFI or most of all the other DME's yet it does to the 997TT as the other will correct and the DFI cars unlimited times. The 997TT often allows you a second correction yet if you do the same thing twice like not unzipping it as an example then we may have to fix it.
I checked the server and the car was actually read and programmed on 4/5/13 and then programmed twice again on 4/6/13 and actually twice again 4/12/13 at 6:17est and then again at 6:52est. Having a problem in the first write at 6:17 and not having it on a charger and the key on for another 45 minutes could cause an issue at the second again at 6:52 with low battery voltage.
We do suggest that you disable anti virus etc yet the main issues are:
1.Not unzipping the files.
2. Trying to program without a battery charger on the car and assuming it is charged.
3. Not fully plugging in the cable and hitting it or pulling it out while programming.
4. Not plugging in the laptop and assuming it will have enough battery life to flash the car.
5. Using a MAC not running as a PC in bootcamp as Parallels is not the same or virtual.
The internet is not an issue once it starts to read or write so loosing it after starting either would not affect it. What it would do is simply not let it start either process.
You can either send us the DME to update the Porsche flash as it is an old version and make up new files or take it to a Dealer or Private shop to flash in the same way. This is not a problem and we can turn it around the same day if you send it to us. Should you take it to a shop and have it flashed with the Porsche tester DO NOT use the files we sent as new ones will have to be made. This is only if you had been unable to load the Orig or tuned file again.
Best,
Scott
