Bilstein B8
Bilstein B8
Anybody have any experience with these, they appear to be akin to the old x73.
They are setup for a lowering spring and use pasm?

Yes sir,
I have these on my Gemballa Gt550. Bilstein B8 Damptronic sprint. Pasm compatible. A wonderful choice. These are shortened to work with lowering springs.
I personally use H&R, with H&R adjustable sway bars.
Very highly recommended.

Very interesting!
I know they were working on the x73 back in 07, I guess bilstein went with it instead of tequipment.
I assume they are a sport shock, an improvement over stock.
How do you find them in stock/sport mode?

They are not only an improvement over stock. THEY ARE REMARKABLE. I am not exagerrating here.
In normal mode they perform very differently than stock shocks. Comfortable until you start pressing the car and the suspension. Then they get PROGRESSIVELY stiff.
In sport mode they are rock solid.
In simpe words. With stock shocks I used sport mode several times.
Now with the B8 almost never.
Hope I helped.

That's fantastic, a true option to the b16s with all their faults.
Couple of questions:
Which exact ones did you go with, fr and r?
Were you able to use all your OEM hardware, ie drop-links?

Yes my friend. Both front and rear.
Gemballa mechanics used all OEM hardware without any issues at all.
Drop links, toe links, dogbones are all OEM.
No issues with allignment.
Car has never felt like that before.
Cheers,
George
