Hey guys. I took my 2012 911 Turbo (manual tranny) to the dragstrip today. I think I did pretty well, considering the car is totally stock and running on WINTER tires. Here are the specifics:

1/4 Mile: 11.422 secs @ 122.34 mph with a 1.648 60'

Bone stock 2012 Porsche 911 Turbo (997.2) with 6 speed manual transmission on Pirelli Sottozero WINTER TIRES (295s in the rear) at 66 degrees F ambient temp.

It took me a while to fine-tune my launch and find the right tire pressures, but the following settings were just about perfect, generating zero wheel-hop and virtually no wheel-spin.

40psi (hot) in all 4 tires
Sport Mode ON; PASM ON; PSM OFF
3,500 RPM launch

This was at Mason Dixon Dragway in MD (elevation: 520 ft above sea level).

With a good summer tire on the car, I'm pretty sure that I can get a 1.5x 60' time and 11.2 sec ET.

 

Nice work! the car next to you looked intimidating, and wow it must've had some tq to lift up like that. Couldn't tell from the video, did you catch up? I'm guessing the timeslip was from a different run b/c the car in the other lane in the timeslip only hit 92mph?

 

Thanks. I did catch up, but I believe he had a problem that started mid-way down the track. The timeslip that I posted was, in fact, from that run, so something was definitely wrong with his car.

Would love to know what you can run, similar conditions outside, with an exhaust and ECU tune. Don't always get those figures from stock to upgrades.

 

That 60' is RIDICULOUS with your winter tires. You definitely have a driver mod in the car, lol!! Some summer tires and 1.5s are right around the corner.
