Question about my tune(Softronic)
Can I check open recalls for my car via a website? I am in the market for a tune, just want to make sure everything else is good to go before hand.
Thanks.
Your dealer will know - I called my dealer and he knew what I was talking about. It's campaign WD04. Took about an hour - parts listed were a protective tube and a cable binder.

Same thing happened with non sport mode yesterday. So with the tune, I got 15~16psi on non sport mode and 17~18 psi on sport mode but when this issue happened, I only got 10 psi regardless of sport mode or not.
Got some more info guys...
SWC your VIN is not on a recall. The factory firmware on both your ECU's is an older version of the B740 from Porsche. The last version is a B742. Typically the dealer will update firmware during standard services. Just because there is a recall on it, doesnt mean there is that exact problem. So I dont think either of you should worry about that. With the firmware being old, its good to get that updated, but you need to get a new read out if you do that.
The car doing what it is doing is normal really for Porsche as a safe mode. Default boost will be 10-11 psi if the egt's are to hot. As it is, Sport Mode gives you that extra boost leaning out the car and make the EGT run hotter. So if you are constantly running in sport mode doing "runs", this will happen. Once the car is flashed and you have it running leaner with more timing nd higher boost, the EGT will read even hotter! The reason it goes away if you shut the car down is simply as if you were doing a restart on your home computer. Obviously the temperature is still there so it will pop back on. If you have a stock exhaust, that does not help EGT at all.
Speaking from my own personal use, since the files are good, we can send you a different file for you to test, you can update your firmware with the dealer and reread out your car, or... its probably still going to do that anyways if its running hot.

You could datalog it with Durametric cable. Normal driving conditions, this does not happen, but if you are racing buddies pull after pull after pull, this is what the VTG do. This is how Sport Mode affects the car. Once those EGT temps that are read directly from the sensor get to hot, the car probably closes the throttle plate, pulls back timing etc. Just saying this is could be why. But never had this as a issue before. Let me know what you would like to do. Shoot me a email.

Update:
My boost issue has gone! As Dan's recommendation, I updated my DME with the newest software at the dealer and read it out again. Next day, I received the tuned file from Dan and flashed DME with it. Car feels great and strong without boost issue since then. It seems to be smoother and stronger! Thanks Dan and Scott!

you should be able to control timing AND fueling / air flow (via boost). So why would a tune necessitate leaner conditions?
A good tuner could target whatever AFR they wanted presuming the boost level does not go outside of the boundaries of the factory fueling system (which would be a horrible thing to do in its own right)
Thanks.
