Paul, some tracks in the US have noise regulations, even the quietest exhaust can be flagged.

 

True Laguna is typically 90-92. I was flagged at 94.4 and I was not on full throttle.

 

That brings up a good point. I have an EP1 as well and love the sound. I don't track the car but has anyone ever been pulled over by the police for the sound?

 

Multiple times for no front plate...never for exhaust - running EP2 for 5 years

 

My exhaust on my Ferrari Scuderia 16M is considerably louder than my Turbo S Europipe, and the Ferrari has never been pulled over. I can't imagine that the police would have a problem with the Europipe.

Then how about you fellas that can't decide what's loud and what's quiet take your systems out to Laguna and get those black flags waving, that way when you say a particular system is too loud.. too quiet, not loud enough etc you have an actual decibel reading to verify your claims. I'd wait for the black flags to waive and then give it wot full noise to get a proper decibel reading ..forget the lightweight half throttle readings. That way you can say to the members this exhaust is such and such loud out of a scale 1 to 10 at full noise etc etc. At the moment we have nothing to work with. Sounds like you can put this particular track to good use for the 6 and RL members and put all of this subjective volume nonsense to bed once and for all. Maybe even get cannga out there too and he can test his suspension set up finally . So long as he brings a helmet, some earmuffs, a box of panadol and a few nappies he should be fine. He doesnt even need to worry even 6th gear and just use 3rd all the time to keep it all above 3000 if he likes...redline it etc But no kidding allowed.

Yes although not specifically for excess noise to begin with but they did mention the loud sound of the engine to help justify their claim. Mind you I'd only given it a part throttle hit going from 1st into second and then i backed off immediately....next thing i had the cops on me trying to make a fuss over nothing. But as a general rule no. I think the system certainly sounds above normal for what the car would sound sock but because it sounds like a proper porsche and not some sick fluffy farting tractor it doesn't lend itself to automatic scrutiny. The other good thing is if they did look under the car it at least looks like it belongs on the car and not some obvious AM shiny thing that's all heat discoloured.
