New data log
Dave, is the blue curve a graph of engine load from the Nick's data above? Don't know if I am missing something (new to this of course) but it seems Nick's data shows max engine load is at around 4400 rpm , here it is at 3000, making the torque plateau a lot wider than it should be?
RPM (LOAD)
3112 (200)
4428 (219)
5257 (205)
Any reason why the runs are so different? Other than that Nick stepped on gas 1000 rpm earlier on this vs. others, I think.
The low AFR is a *consequence* of the boost being high for a long time right? Is ECU programming supposed to not let this happen (I have no idea)?
I like these graphs! Very easy to see.

I also don't know how FVD programs their tunes. It's running a little too rich up top but better safe than sorry.
Depending on how your other logs will look, if the car remains rich, and it isn't due to the ECU's compensation, there may be more power available.
Dave (or anyone), I am just curious: what do tuners who use OBDII for custom tuning (I assume Protomotive and Softtronic) recommend to do for street logging? For example, a WOT 2000-6800 rpm run in one single gear? Or going through the gears to red line? TIA
Start out with single gear, 3rd or 4th but speed can be a factor in 4th. It's ironic you mentioned Softronic because in the early days, it was only Todd (Protomotive) who was customizing tunes via OBDII (you get three or four free calibrations). Softronic stated that one optimized tune pretty much satisfies them all. My how things have changed...
So low down in 2nd through to end of 4th and low down in 4th all the way till the end.
PS I think I will add 5th and 6th next time

In other words, your second file (the one where you opened WOT at 2000 rpm in 4th gear and carried all the way to red line) is the one that replicates a dyno, if that's what you are trying to do?

There is more lag in terms of hitting maximum boost but there is also alot more low down torque to compensate if you understand but it drives great especially at wot through gears.
I have not tested 100km to 200km yet. Bit dodgy here in the uk with police.

Hi Nick just asking here so I am clear on the answer: if a dyno run is what you like to replicate, it would be single gear only, no? Not "2nd to 4th"?

Just to clarify, i told Nick to make 2 seperate runs,
- 4th gear only, from about 2400rpm till redline. full wot run. (like a dyno run)
- starting from 2nd gear till end of 4th, full wot run with fast shifting.
(like you are roll racing with someone on the highway.)
Let me know if you want to ask anything.
Cheers,
Emre

. So you like to see 2 different runs: 2nd to 4th gear pull, and dyno-style 4th gear only pull?Questions pls:
What parameters are you looking for in the 2nd to 4th gear pull that are different from the dyno-style run? Does it reveal something that might cause you to alter the ECU tune? Timing, AFR, boost?
(Real questions - I enjoy hearing from the pro's and what they are thinking.)
