Hey there, I have an opportunity to purchase a plan for $2k for 3 year coverage with a $300 deductible. The warranty doesn't cover anything to do with convertible parts but otherwise is quite comprehensive.

With 17k kilometers on the dial. Do you think I should go for this?

Jako, is that through a auto dealer or private? i ended up last month buying warranty through the AMA part of the CAA. they use interstate but its under written by a huge cnd insurance co for cnd policies. my coverage is literally bumper to bumper for two years and 40k clicks. it was pricey at $4500 tax in. for you i would call wessiach or other indies in Vancouver and see if they use or have any problems with the company. thats what i would base my decision on.

Thanks Bob. That is a good point to call the local shops. SAL is a part of the industrial alliance group. They are a pretty good organization which sells their product through dealers. It was my leasing guy that I would buy it from

The coverage is bumper to bumper as well, just no coverage on anything to do with the convertible parts. It is 3 year or 40k. With a 300 dollar deductible. $1950 for the plan.

I spoke with Porsche Vancouver centre and a couple if other indy shops. SAL seems to be the best that is available in Canada. Easy care was the preferred, but they had pulled out of the Canadian market. The classic plan seems to cover bumper to bumper which includes the turbos. I think I will be pulling the trigger on this plan.

Considering a new engine would have cost $60k I feel like I got off easy...not really.
