997 GT2 or 991 GT3?

I've owned my 997 GT2 for about 7 months now, using it as a daily driver and for an occasional track day. I just love the car.

But, the new 991 GT3 is very intriguing...
9,000 RPM, 7 speed sequential, 100 millisecond shifts, 7:25 Nurburgring time.

They're about the same price.

 

Having never driven the new GT3, but driven the GT2 and owned a previous GT3 -

Collectability: 997 GT2 by far
DD: 991 GT3. Gotta love a PDK for DD traffic duty
Track: 991 GT3. A GT2RS would win, but the .1 GT2 was not perfect suspension wise and the new GT3 from all reviews is like the 2nd coming. See how it put down better lap times than a 12c in Evo's review.

So overall - I'd get a GT3 between the two. In fact, I'll be getting a 991 GT3 on the used market in a year or two. I like to let initial owners take the first hit then jump in :-)

 

I would wait and dive the new GT-3 first. What you get in turning you will lose in thrust.

.1 GT2 @ 520hp vs 991 GT3 @475, I'd be willing to bet that the GT3 will keep up due to the PDK speed. GT2 obviously is mod friendly though

IMHO, GT3 is good if you track a lot but GT2 will stay as a special rare car that can become collectable.

 

If you want a car with a manual transmission you have no choice but to get the GT2.

If you plan to mod it get the gt2, if not I would get the 991 gt3.

 

I will do the opposite lol I love the GT2 just how it comes from factory! It's a hell of a car for sure!
