gap between front bumper and "frunk"

I just got my vehicle back from having some body work done and the gap between the front number and the frunk seems to be larger than I remember it being, but I honestly don't have that good of a recollection. The gap between the fenders and frunk is noticeably smaller than the gap at the very front of the frunk where it meets the bumper. I tried to capture this in a picture but can't get a shot that really shows the (potential) issue.

Could someone measure how big their frunk/bumper gap is and/or comment on its size relative to the gap between the frunk and fenders? TIA.

The gap should be uniform all around the edges of your frunk lid. If it's wider in the front near the bumper than it is further up along each side of the frunk near the fenders, they put your bumper back on wrong.

There are some adjustment screws/clips in the front that regulate the gap you are talking about. You should take it back to them and have them adjust the front bumper.

I recently had a techart front bumper installed and ran into the same issue.

CBADtt -- thanks for the reply. I thought that it didn't look right, but I wanted confirmation. The gap I have now is so big that I can see a little bit of the frunk release lever while the frunk is closed! Hopefully they way that they have it on hasn't deformed it permanently...and I won't be able to have them adjust it for several weeks.

I have heard (and know mine does) that the "frunk" does sit just slightly lower in plane view to the bumper. I was at a shop recently where they were adjusting a bonnet back after the owner adjusted it to sit flush resulting in a whistle at freeway speeds.

Passenger side - 3.52mm

Highly doubt you'll have a problem getting the gap back to spec. Good luck.

You can raise/lower the hood latch easily to make it higher or lower... moving it forward or backward though is going to take some tweaking of the mounts that are up near the windshield (never bothered touching those).

I don't think his gap problem is because of the hood. The front bumper is the problem, and it can be easily adjusted to move forward or backward.

Yeah, they didn't do anything with my hood, so it really should be just the bumper.

Thanks everyone for all of the helpful comments...I'm optimistic that I can get it fixed pretty easily. Unfortunately, I'm going to need to wait a couple of weeks because of scheduling.

Special thanks to elite1 for the precise measurements

Update: they were able to fix the issue and now things look good. They did need to make some adjustments with the hood, in addition to what they did with the bumper.
