Painted my Exhaust Tips today
#35
So I buy some ceramic coating exhaust paint to color by tips black. I spray 5 coats of this 2000 degree ceramic coating on the tips after a series of cleaning and sanding. I text a friend a pic and he asks "don't you have to bake them now"? I laugh to myself then I actually read all of the directions - bake at 250 x 30 min then 400 x 30 min then 600 x 30 minutes. In the oven now and thanking a friend for setting me straight.

Love this.
Its been a week and it completely blacks out my car. I did have a small peal on one of the tips but, I just taped the tip on the car, resanded the area and sprayed it installed. This would have been fine if I dedicated more time in the preparation process.
I ran the car for 15 minute's, cooled it, and reran it for 1 hour. It blend perfect. I cant tell where the peel was.
I have to mention, after spraying the tip, the tip was darker (where I sprayed.) Until I did this cycle, it blended perfectly and the touch up was unnoticed.

It's a clamp that connects it to the exhaust outlet pipe. If it warms up around here we could do both of ours.
