Got my Kline exhaust and will diy but asked the local Porsche Center for a quote.

They wanted $3200 just for the labour...

 

It does actually take about 4 weeks of labor to swap out exhausts. Everyone knows this.

 

Can't be right. Did they give that to you in writing? Quoting you nearly 30 hours labor? Maybe it was only $320, which isn't that bad.

 

Did you ask them to explain? At $200/hour (way high) that would mean 16 hours to install - I wouldn't characterize them as "stealers", just incompetent.

 

Crazy... This is ridiculous...

maybe that included the exhaust

 

Lol yea that can't be right are you sure that didn't include the exhaust it takes 2 hrs.

 

If you don't mind taking a short drive to Nynäshamn, go see Stertman Motorsport. Ask for Mattias...I'm sure they'll treat you right.

So how many hours of labor was in the written estimate? What do they get there? Equivalent of $500/hr???

 

I changed my stock exhaust to an ep2 and it took me 4 1/2 hours. I fooled around at home depot looking for the right raisers needed ( 4 - 1inch 12x12 slabs worked.) I now am looking into a Max Jaxx, which can be removed and reinstalled into the same position.
