I fully agree with you, but why bag on miatas? Everything isnt about lap times, some guys just want to have fun on the track. And a miata is a significantly higher driver engagement car than a GTR. If you want to set fastest lap, track a GTR. If you want to have a fun time on the cheap, the miata is a perfect vehicle.
Still, anyone who tracks a GTR and *****es about fluids should have done their research...

Too much fun to be had in those things. As stated, I respect the GTR and like it. Personally for 100k I would not buy one.
Where in my post did I mention tires? Transmission service for $600? (not in SF) Every 2K? Reading my post again, clearly states it needs to be changed every time you exceed a certain temp...
Also last time I checked GT3 was not a Miata.

280degrees, by the way. I track mine as well. The high temps can be avoided quite easily with the purchase of a trans cooler - and a LOT cheaper than new fluids every weekend - again not well researched, or not willing to do anything about it but pay additional for new fluids. I'd speculate that most track-goers have their go-to components (shocks, tires, track pads, etc...). For GT-R track guys - we get rotors and coolers.
There are much more affordable track alternatives - that wasn't the purpose of the GT-R. It is a supercar for everyone.
I'm attempting to avoid referring to the GT3 as an affordable option, because that might offend some here that think the GT-R is a cheaper version of the 911, and these two concepts in the same post might make someone's head explode.
The GT3 is one of my favorite track cars ever - but difficult to discuss in this thread without going off the deep end.
