'12 TTS dynamic rerouting GPS

I live in Toronto and have a US subscription for XM + traffic. I'm able to see traffic on major hwys and when I press the info button I'm able to set all of the traffic alerts for the city. However, I haven't been able to get dynamic rerouting to work. I put in an address and it takes me thru a red zone and doesn't detour me off.

Maybe it's because the XM traffic is only for major hwys in Toronto and it doesn't know the side street traffic???

Thanks for opinions.

I know there's something to be said for integration, but have you tried the app Waze? It knocks the pants off any built-in system I've ever seen. Reroutes, police advisories, accident advisories, debris advisories... It's saved me time and time again, and the granularity of its data (all users are being GPS tracked and aggregated) is excellent.

I'll give you a quick example. I was heading north on Hwy 101, planning to take Hwy 84 east. As I come closer to the offramp, Waze tells me to take the offramp for Hwy 84 west instead. I was certain it was mistaken, but I decided to trust it anyway. As I came up to the exit, I noticed it was completely at a standstill, but the other parts of the cloverleaf were empty... so... I followed Waze and made three loops and beat everyone on the East exit. It even works its wonders on smaller streets and avenues. I run it on every trip.

Oh, and best of all... it's free.
