Silver or Black?
Silver or Black?
Just had my suspension re-done with Ohlins (single) adjustable coils, LCAs, end links, corner balance alignment. Rear track was pushed out 8mm and camber specs ~ 1.7F and -1.8R. I'll need some more seat time for a review but initial impression is that it's actually just as comfortable as stock on comfort mode (pasm off) except a lot less twitchy at the limit. I would have gone with the multi-adjustable coils however the car's sole purpose is not the track, and I wanted to keep it comfortable so the Ohlins are a fantastic solution.
While the car was at the shop having the suspension done, we were playing around with different wheels on the car to see how it would look. The attached photos are with my stock silver centerlocks and borrowed black centerlocks. I really like the way the black (gloss) looks with the silver/gray centerlock lug with the Silver GT Metallic exterior. I think the silver wheels are nice but there's just not enough contrast IMHO. I'll polled about 20 people and half like black, half like silver. Good news is if I change the color, I can always change it again...cheap and easy mod.
Curious what color wheel you guys like.

It is obviously a subjective thing, but I find black wheels such a waste as you lose all the detail of the wheel. As you may know, artists use light colours to draw your eye, so it depends whether you want the wheels to draw attention or have them fade into the shadows.

a brushed add-on lip just like the bbs chr.
it isnt a pinstripe. its actually a brushed metal ring that goes on via 2 double sided tape. this is what is on the bbs ch-r... looks SOOOO sick in person..

I would go Silver..Looks cleaner IMO. Not a fan of the black on silver car...And don't like the silver edges on black wheels either....But just an opinion....What you asked for
Good luck choosing.

Given the two choices, I'd go with black. Yes, silver wheels show the detail much better than black, but you're right, on a silver car it's too monochromatic. Here's another alternative that came on my 09 TT, they are finished in gloss grey metallic. I think it is an optional wheel color, but I haven't seen it to often. BTW, I'm not a fan of the chrome trim either, as everyone says, just my personal opinion.
