Led fog conversion
Just to be clear...you removed your 997.1 TT front bumper cover, removed the 997.1 TT fog lights, installed the 997.2 fog lights (also listed as driving lights), and they worked with no errors? No mods? and they came on as DRLs, or did you use a Porsche tool (PIWIS/Durametric/etc.) to set them to be daylight running lights?
Just interested in the specifics and facts for everyone's benefit here. I hear/read/and assumed that when you took the halogen bulb out and replaced with an LED (997.2), the computer CAN would detect the different resistance and think the bulb was out??
But you are saying you just swapped and they work...? Porsche must have built in a circuit or resistor in the 997.2 if that is the case...
Thanks for the info.

997.1 has halogen fog lights while .2 has 4 high power white leds inhoused in fog light....same external dimensions same plug same bolts...they can be installed at 997.1 fron bumper you just need to add some resistors to avoid error message...

One of my original fogs had a crack in the lens so I thought I would just swap them for the LED version.
They work without any dash errors. They do not turn on like DRL, you have to manually turn them on.

Your welcome DC.
I suppose you can buy this kit if you did want the DRL feature.

Or this if you already have the fogs.

Interesting, are they led or hid? High price to pay for led.
Hi there...
Not sure if there is something different with YOUR car, but the cheap ones in the link HERE will typically work fine. You need "Canbus - Error Free T-10 W5W" bulbs to correctly replace the oem side markers. I have used a host of these (like the ones in the link) with no issues.
Hope this helps.

But they use led bulbs? Some people have sold hid conversions for the fogs, but I always think those are risky due to the heat.
Max is out of the led fog bulbs. Looks like the ones on eBay are the newer generation LED's

As far as I know they are LED bulbs.
Not sure why yours is giving you issues. You can always add 6 OHM 50 Watt resistors to trick it if you cannot get one to work.
Good luck!
