They work without any dash errors. They do not turn on like DRL, you have to manually turn them on.

I swapped mine as well with 997.2 led fogs and they work like DRL. Ignition on and the DRL comes on straight away. PIWIS coding is required to change 'incandescent' to LED.

Nick, maybe you have an older control unit, thats why you have to manually turn them on?
