Not sure why yours is giving you issues. You can always add 6 OHM 50 Watt resistors to trick it if you cannot get one to work.

Good luck!

Thanks! Actually, no problem getting canbus LED's, but they only last a couple of months before they quit working. They just burn out. They all look the same so I'm not sure how to find "quality" ones. I think you can pay more and just get the same garbage.

Exactly. And MUCH less heat than xenons. I wouldn't do a xenon fog light conversion.

GTRNICK:

Do you have a picture of your .2 Fog Lamps at night head-on?. The replacement LED bulbs I have in are balanced quite nicely (color temperature) with the headlights. However, they really do not throw out much real usable light...they seem more cosmetic. The stock halogens were noticeable when turning on while night driving from inside the car. The LED's not so much. Not sure if its just because the DRL's are so bright that they might just be over powering the fogs?

Thoughts?

Agreed....Not sure what to tell you on that one, as it is hard to tell. I guess I have been fortunate that mine have lasted. A couple I have purchased for the Cayenne, have developed a blinking led or two and had to replace, but so far on the 911's and Boxster..no issues yet.

Good luck..

I forgot to mention that while 997.1 fog lights were helping you to light the road 997.2 oem fog lights are simply cosmetic...they wont make any difference in road lighting....but they will make your car look way better at night...

^^^ Thanks for the heads-up. I was researching 997.2 LED fog lamps earlier today and was planning on buying some on Monday. Guess I'll just stick with the LED's I have installed for now.

That's amazing. Worth spending the 60 to improve the look. Better off spending the money on an hid conversion than $1k on the .2 conversion then.

Hi,

Not sure who installed yours? The DRL's should be wired to an ignition activated power source, unrelated to the fogs, or any other lights. Perhaps they were somehow wired to engage with the fog's?

It is pretty straightforward, so if you have the issue, perhaps see if that happened? The blinker/DRL strip has one harness to act a a blinker (normally), and and additional wire for DRL, that keeps the white LED's on while the car is on. Again, totally separate from anything on the fog light (unless it was wired that way).

Hope this helps...

On your second part. I assume you are using, or have used Durametric or PSTII or PIWIS to code the side markers to act as blinkers? When you do so, you can ONLY have one or the other....They are either on all the time (running lights), OR act as blinkers...But they will not do both.

Hope this helps.

I finally installed the LED Canbus-Error Free T10 W5W you had directed me to. They are working perfectly...NO ERRORS...FINALLY!!!!

Thanks for the tip. Can't wait to see how they look tonight.

Does anyone have a link to the error free LED fog light bulbs, all the previous links to them are invalid. (bulbs only, not the FVD conversion)
