Another Oil Pressure Thread

Just picked up a SY 997.1TT 6MT the other day to replace the 996TT that has met its maker.

I noticed my oil pressure at about 2 bar @ idle and usually sits at 5 bar while cruising.

Is this normal??? Would appreciate everyone's thoughts on this ...

Thanks!

Hi there.

Yes, that is quite normal. When sitting/idling it is minimal. As the engine revs, it will usually spike out to max and then when stopped fall back as you indicate. Absolutely normal...nothing to worry about.

Be sure to check your oil on the display when level and after the car has reached operating temperature. If you show within the last bar at the top...nothing to worry about.

Been discussed HERE too...And HERE

Read that one, since most of the posters were non-turbos, I figured I'd ask.

Thanks again!
