Anyone have a "how-to" link for testing for boost leak on a 997.2? I did a search and found everything except what I was looking for.
Are people testing at the turbos or removing airbox and doing it there? I recall reading a right and wrong way to test for boost leaks but that was months ago and I can't find the thread

Also, are there colder plugs available for the 997.2?

Wow sorry to hear Chris.

Given that you have an off-the-shelf tune with only a few bolt-ons, I would proceed first with a boost leak test. There should be a number of shops that can do it near you.

A couple weeks ago my car wasn't performing well and I thought I had a problem with mine and had BBI do a boost leak test for me at 25psi. The boost test was perfect but the car didn't fee strong at WOT. We believe it was just a bad batch of 91 octane gas. It was the day before Shift Sector so I just put some race gas and voila! Car was 100% after that. So in the short ownership of this car I've learned two things: 1) don't run with the gas light on you will be down something like 50 HP and 2) if you car starts running like crap, put in some better gas before anything else.

Hopefully it's something simple like that for you.

Thanks Adam
Over the weekend I realized I did have the issue for a while but thought it was other things (first I thought it was the wrong springs in the DVs, and then I thought I wasn't getting traction because of the tires and temperature) After checking the Dvs to confirm they did in fact have the correct set up and replacing the new Pirelli Corsas with even stickier R888s, the problem was only more pronounced. In addition, I found another video of the tach from a couple months ago and noticed the rpms did the same thing under WOT.
First thing I did was throw race fuel in there and see if that made a difference but unfortunately it didn't.
I'm going to do a boost leak test myself if I can carve out a couple hours this week. Only other thing I could think is that it's the spark plugs. Car has 6k miles but only 2k tuned. I don't think it's that but who knows. I'm pretty frustrated at this point but it's all part of owning a modded car.

Put the stock valves back in for testing, please. This is a known good working file (the same file that longboarder and others are running with great success). Also, let me know if the throttle body alignment helps.

For those who have their ECUs bench flashed, please make sure to perform a throttle body alignment after reinstalling your ECU after flashing. This can cause shifting and drivability issues in addition to limp mode. GIAC customers can do this with their handheld program switchers, others will need to find a PIWIS to do it.

So far it looks like Austin was exactly right. I never suspected the tune itself was giving me problems but it appears that the throttle body just needed to be reset. I took the car for a quick 15 minute spin and did a few different pulls in each gear on Sport Plus. It was ballistic and no issues with the Rpms pulling back like before. Smooth drive ability at cruising speeds. No fault codes were stored or presented themselves today.
Tomorrow I'm going to stretch it's legs a bit longer just to make sure all is well.
Thanks Austin and all who chimed in.

Chris, Glad everything seems to be working out for you! Can someone please elaborate on what a "throttle body alignment" exactly is? What causes it to be needed? Sorry, I've just never heard of this before and need some education. Thanks,

Thanks!
On drive by wire t bodies, the blade could be at a different angle than the ecu thinks it is, causing issues like I had. I used to have this problem with watercraft too until I went to standalone ecu. I should have known better

Isn't it nice when there is a cheap or free, easy fix to a problem with the P-car! Can the throttle body realignment be done via Durametric?

Happy to hear a solution was found. Thanks for sharing, as the TB alignment fix is one that many of us would not have thought of (kudos to Austin at GIAC for chiming in)!

Awesome Chris! I'm SO glad Austin came to the rescue and thought of the TB alignment, although now I feel like a huge dummy for not thinking of that when we spoke!

Glad to hear you're up and running though!!

Yes, that is how I did it although I could have also done it via GIAC handheld
