ERP triple issues?

I have heard from a couple folks that people are having "issues" with the ERP triple clutch. I was actually getting ready to pull the trigger on one when I was told about the issues.

I was given no additional information as to what the issues are....anyone else hear anything?

I just want a good strong clutch that won't need replacing and can handle any future upgrades.

This is a bit of a controversial subject. Some people are happy with the ERP clutch and some people are not.

I was also looking at this for one of my future mods but I do not want to be a guinea pig for ERP unless I am aware of this and choose to be.

What I can say is that the 950nm kit I got from FVD is holding up well so far and drives like stock.

That is only about 700 ft lbs. I am surprised you aren't way over that!

As a novice, I can speak from the 3 disc version of this clutch. It definitely has a learning curve to drive but, once you learn it, its becomes fun.

I wouldn't recommend this clutch to anyone that Daily Drives their car in traffic. With my GT2 conversion and 3 disc clutch, its no pleasure in traffic.

I bought the clutch under the same contention of "never needing replacement." I could have achieved that with the 2 disc version and it may have been an easier clutch to drive.

Lots of controversy on this clutch on the 996 turbo forum.

Again, I love the clutch now after 3 months of using it at the track and learning my 1/2 inch engagement point at the very top but, if I had to do it all over again, I would have saved $5K and just upgraded the pressure plate and replace the disc.
