Creaking driver seat?

I just got a 2008 997.1tt with adaptive sport seats. It has 10k miles.

I've been noticing an annoying creak from the driver seat with normal driving. Sounds like a low pitch creak as if the seat is not secured.

Appreciate any help as to what the problem may be and how to remedy it.

There was a thread a while back that indicated over time, the guide seat rails begin to wear a notch. the rollers wiggle in the notch giving you the feeling of a loose seat. Perhaps yours has a creak due to that?

Others have experienced the creak coming from the seat belt receiver. A quick shot of lithium spray or WD 40 should help

Thanks for your input, Jako. I'll try the WD40 trick.

If it's wear and tear related I can live with it.

However, with only 10K miles on the car I was worried it may be something else. If it gets worse, I'll just take it to the dealership.

I noticed just today that my passenger adaptive is starting to squeak/creak. Let me know if you figure yours out.

Thanks to Jako, I was able to identify that the squeak/creak in my car is coming from the seat belt receiver.

Not exactly sure if the noise is coming from the inside of the seatbelt receiver when buckled or from the housing of the receiver rubbing against the leather seat. I sat buckled-up and tugged on the belt and was able to recreate the squeak.

Tried a shot of WD40 into the buckle receiver to no avail, but I'm glad that it's not from the seat/railing.

Boeing I doubt if yours is similar to mine if your squeak comes on with the passenger seat unoccupied.

WD-40. LOL, but that's what it takes sometimes and what I have used it strategically placed velcro (the soft side of it).

Also, check to make sure that all the bolts and nuts are tight, if not put a little loctite or sealant on them and tighten them down again.

A word of advice, if you start dicking around underneath be very careful not to disturb the electrical connection and definitely don't disconnect them as the airbags may need to be calibrated after that. If you are going to dig around in and around the seats, disconnect the battery, turn on the interior light to discharge any remaining voltage and then go dicking about.

I think the Velcro will do the trick. Thank you, 512bb.

Mine did it once on my 997.2 after the dealer messed with the fire ext mount. Two bolts needed little loctite and torque. If the seats were out for any reason. There you go.
Put the seats all the way fwd, remove plastic covers, then tighten (torx, equivalent to 3/8" 12 point). Repeat for the rear two.

Yep my low mile car does it too. I have narrowed it to the belt buckle rubbing either the seat or the center console. Will try the velcro soft aide trick.
