iPhone 5/PCM Help Please
iPhone 5/PCM Help Please
I have a 2012 and as of now I have bought 3 different cords and I still can't stream Pandora through my stereo. First, I went to Radio Shack and asked them and bought a AUX cord to go into the port inside the arm rest and then into the headphone jack in my iPhone 5. It didn't work. Streaming through Bluetooth doesn't work b/c the car doesn't "see" the iPhone as anything but a phone. I called the Porsche dealer and they said you need to buy a cord from us that goes into the iPod port and also the other pc port to charge and then you need to buy and iPhone 4 to iPhone 5 connector online. I bought these two cords and it still doesn't work. Salesguy at dealer now says the AUX cable will work but I need to make sure it's not a mono but a stereo AUX. Help! I just want to stream Pandora and maybe play songs on my iPhone too, but that's less important.
Sales guy at Porsche told me it should work with the aux cable. Parts guy at Porsche dealer said Porsche cable + adapter would work and neither has so far.
Hey Michael,
I'm using my 5S in my TTS using the following setup:
1) Factory iPod/iPhone y-cable (30-pin)
2) 0.2m Lightning to 30-pin adapter (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD...n-adapter-02-m)
I haven't tried Pandora, but Spotify and iTunes, etc work just fine.

As others have said the AUX should work. If you can hear Pandora when listening with headphones, then the sound is coming out of the AUX. You are correct when someone told you that it has to be a stereo cable. As long as the HU is set tp the AUX input and you are using a stereo cable, then anything audio that you can hear though headphones will be played. I know this is obvious, but I thought I would add it. If using the AUX, the volume on your phone for the AUX output has to be turned up, if it is muted then nothing will come out.
I'm not an iPhone user so I could easily be wrong on this, but I would have thought you could push Pandora through the iPhone cable.

Yes on PCM3 you can run Pandora, Audible etc. thru the 30-pin Iphone cable (with a Lightening adpater for the 5/5S).

I had a bad cord. I replaced the Porsche cord and bought the Apple version of the 30 pin to lightning and now it works for music on my iPhone 5 and for Pandora. Thanks!
