GIAC+bolt-on 997.2 Turbo S takes on 1,000 HP Ford GT

Why do you like to sandbag your hp? Do you get pleasure from misleading people about your hp then beating them? Serious question, as I don't get why anyone would feel the need to lie about the power they make. If you ask me, I'll tell you the straight up truth. Then good luck to both of us in our race
So after people started figuring this out, they began to quote lower HP figures. Not necessarily "sandbagging" per se, but factoring in airstrip conditions.
Now GIAC has said to me that Porsche would likely rate my car at 700 hp. Given that manufacturers don't rate the "optimal" HP, and that Porsche tends to be even more conservative than other manufacturers, that 700 may be "sandbagging" a little.
In any event I haven't dyno'd with my mods, so I don't know how much power my car is making...so 600 wheel/700 crank was my best guess based on input from GIAC/Champion. But based on the outcomes of some of my races, it's pretty evident that it's making a little more than 700 crank.
The results change depending on the format of the formula.
Not sure if it was the latest and greatest revision, but GIAC has a dyno for 568 whp on 100 octane on Emmanuele Designs website.
Was yours on 93? I don't remember seeing your dyno
Minor point I accidentally put in quotes.
Fair question. It's pretty common now at the airstrip events to sandbag a little. At first, people were quoting their highest dyno runs and with the higher elevation and higher temp conditions of running out here in the SoCal deserts, people were finding that their cars just weren't making the "optimal" dyno condition power. For example, in optimal conditions, my M3 will do a high 6/low 7 60-130. But at at the airstrip on a hot Tarmac it's lucky to do an 8.0.

Haha thanks yeah we've had some big sandbaggers and jumpers too (guys that will floor it like 2-3 car lengths before the cones) and people figure it out quick and word spreads and then they have no one to run.
Here you go my friend https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...o-numbers.html 563whp on 93 oct

For instance, a 997.2TT (non-S) makes about 420whp on our dyno, on 91 octane. We've seen loosely calibrated mustang dynos show 500whp stock for that same platform. This means before tuning, that car is reading 80whp higher (base to base). Is one car faster than the other? Definitely not 80whp faster. The issue is that the tuned whp will appear higher even if the delta between stock and tuned isn't.
There isn't much too say as when you read the post you will find out the file was an old one made for 91 at the time and for the previous owner several years as I recall prior. The comparison was to a 93 octane tune and new. We currently get around 560 for a 93 octane file and have increased the 91 as well. So basically and older 91 file was compared to a new 93, not a accurate comparison as a new 93 to new 93 would be more realistic.
Best,
Scott
