For buyers of used Turbos... how long did it take you to find your car???
I am going to look for the following car
07-08 .. 997.1 Turbo
Tiptronic
Low miles (25k or under)
Well maintained with maintenance records
Clean carfax with no accidents or paint work
Will pass a PPI
Silver or gray car with black interior
The only option that is a must have for me is the sports chrono package
budget around 65k
I was wondering when you guys were looking for your cars how long it took you to find what you were looking for. How was the whole buying experience. I plan to use this site and just make a WTB thread and PM a few of the forum dealers. I figured finding the right car could take months. Just wanted to see what you guys thought.

A couple hours. No joke. Had a plane ticket to Houston to go sign the paperwork and pick up a Ferrari in the afternoon but woke up in the morning and was like f*ck it....I want a TTS instead because I want a car that is fast in all disciplines (track, drag, airstrip) that I can beat the tar out of without anything ever going wrong. Found a CPO car with the color combo and build spec locally and was at the dealer and bought the car a couple hours later.
This is completely the opposite of how I usually make larger financial decisions but so far it's worked out haha.

I heard the tips are a little cheaper than the 6 speeds. I could spend up to 75k but obviously I'd like to get the car for the best price possible. Wow one poster a few hours and another a year !!

That said -- those colors are easy to find. I don't think you'll have much trouble finding one at a dealership. Mayyybee a bit more challenging on mileage, but that's why I suggest increasing your budget. 25,000 miles is decently low (though not terribly low) for a 7-8 year old vehicle (3k miles/year). Thankfully there's a lot of owners who actually only drive it that much per year
I've been looking for cars for 9 months, but mainly because I couldn't narrow down to what I wanted until a couple of weeks ago. So it basically took me around two weeks (maybe slightly more) to find the car. During those two weeks I started looking for a cabrio but decided in the last week of searching I wanted a coupe instead. I had more trouble because I was trying to find more of a unique color combination and aero kit -- got lucky and found a 2012 Aqua Blue 997.2 Turbo S w/ the aero kit and only 10k miles. Paid slightly above what I probably should have, but happy that I did it... given the aero kit and color combination, it wasn't likely to last at that price (especially in Ft Lauderdale area). And I had the PPI done at Champion Porsche.... woo.

It comes down to a function of budget and how picky you are with options.
Mine took about 4 months, but I:
Was much pickier on options
Had another 25k in budget
Had a friend who buys/sells exotics for a living on the hunt for me.

Been looking since March - had a few i liked but wasn't quick enough on the trigger...
My only advice to you would be to suggest having all of your ducks in a row so that you can act quickly once you find one you are interested in.

3 months. I found the Porsche website to be very useful in finding CPO cars, but color preferences and options were the time consumers. Bought a CPO 23K miles car from dealer in Minnesota in the dead of winter. Low ball offer was accepted, but trying to get a car shipped from MN in winter proved to be somewhat frustrating.
I spent about 4 months finding mine, I was very flexible on the car/color/options with only thing being a M6 and under 25k miles. I ended up finding one within 100 miles of home and the money was right. You will find the miles are the toughest to find in your budget, but the tip will make it easier. Just be ready to go when you find the car that works for you.
