Yes it is likely that one of your components are failing. From what i understand, the accumulator fails usually before the slave gives out. When i had the leaking pentosin reservoir up front with the slightly hard to depress pedal in the morning, i took it to the shop and they confirmed the slave and accumulator needed changing. I went ahead and changed the master cylinder as well as it was only 1/3rd the cost of the slave.

So before going down the route of changing parts I went ahead and double checked everything to make sure nothing was leaking. I looked under the car at the coupling between slave and engine reservoir and found that it was leaking again. This is most likely where it's losing pressure causing the pedal to drop.

The o-ring that was used was not an oem o-ring and my guess is that the pentosin is causing this o-ring to fail.

Does anyone know what the part number is for the o-ring that goes inside that coupling?

At this point I'm not sure what it could be.

Thoughts?

So finally some resolution to this saga. I went ahead and used a power bleeder (motiv) using the instructions from porsche and that took care of the problem. It seems manually bleeding these cars is a ***** and requires a ****load of time so definitely the motiv bleeder is a godsend for clutch bleed as well. Some people had issues with reusing their motiv but the fact is that pentosin is water soluble so washing it off with water, soap and then alcohol removes all traces. I guess if you're that paranoid you can buy another one just for the clutch. They're relatively cheap for the hassle and time they save.

Thanks everyone for their input!

The moral of this is to always diagnose and not just replace parts on a whim.

Good to hear you got it sorted out. How does it feel now? Mine feels exactly like stock with regards to the pedal pressure and all. The actual engagement is slightly more abrupt, but I could very easily put somebody in the car that has never driven it before and they would never know it wasn't the factory clutch. Incredibly pleased with the drivability of it.

I'd venture to say that it feels 'better' than stock. Car feels faster and smoother. I don't get the usual bog in reverse either now.

Excellent. I was expecting some hit to drivability as usually happens with any clutch upgrade, but this one really is like having your cake and eating it too. Really no downsides at all.
