764PP w/ GT3 RS 4.0 Disc Setup
764PP w/ GT3 RS 4.0 Disc Setup
Gents,
Going to be doing the clutch on my 997.1TT this spring and I've decided on the following setup.
964RS LWFW
Sachs 764 PP
GT3 RS 4.0 Clutch Disc.
From my research this seems to be a great setup with no real compromises other than maybe some slight rattle/chatter (apparently it is minimized with this setup).
What I'm unclear on is what else I will need and the PN. This setup is a little different to the usual so called "Sachs 2.5". Anyone have recommendations for where to order it?
Cheers

I went through Sam @ Bydesignauto, he is a sponsor on here and will make sure you get all the correct parts. Great service and shipping.

I highly recommend you upgrading a crank pulley too. Otherwise you may have this issue. It happened to me as well.

What kit did you wind up going with? Evoms? Others?
I went with Evoms kit. The kit comes with proper size belt and OEM bolt and the price is even cheaper than OEM pulley! With this pulley it seems to be less chatter/noise at idle for some reason. So it's no brainer for those who went lighter SMFW.
Any idea how many hours of labor this would be for install (ballpark)?

Should be about 3~4 hours of labor for just installation. My local indy shop did it for $500 include drilling out the broken pin. $300(kit)+$500(labor)=$800 peace of mind and added performance!

There is a very slight "give" on the engagement that lets the clutch "slip" a little on really hard-slamming shifts. It helps relieve some of the shock on the trans.
I got my parts from Sam @ bydesign. Hes the only place to source this stuff for quick and cheap. HIGHLY recommended.
I'm doing this setup in my 996 gt2. The car is in the shop right now. I'm doing the Aasco LWFW instead of the 964RS. I've driven it on a buddies car, and theres no chatter. Its an amazing setup.
