Hi, I am new to the Porsche world coming from owning AMG cars for the last 10 years. I just sold my tuned 2005 CL65 AMG and bought a 2012 Porsche 911 Turbo S with PDK. I absolutely love the car and plan on doing some performance mods ASAP. I will not ask about the Fabspeed exhaust vs all the rest because I did a little searching and found a ****load of threads and drama...Lol. All I ask is that people with experience using either the Fabspeed X-pipe exhaust or the Tubi Race exhaust chime in with their thoughts. I really like the look and the sound on video of the Fabspeed exhaust but I was told by someone that the drone is terrible inside the cabin. Is this true in any of your opinions? I want a loud external exhaust and I want to hear it but I do not want it to take over the whole inside of the car. I assume the Tubi is quieter because they use a muffler. Which one will give more power and or torque? Also, what is the recommendation of catalytic converters. I was told I could tune the ECU so the CEL will not come on if I delete the CATS but does it cause the emissions to stink? My friend has a CL65 AMG and cut out the CATS and put in straight pipes. The exhaust smell is horrible inside the car when the windows are open. Same as with the Porsche? Should I get straight pipes or use 200 Cell CATS? Thank you all in advance for the help.
I've ran w/o cats and w/200 cel. Does it smell w/o, yes. Is it horrid, no. For me it was more of not being able to talk on the phone cause it was too loud. That's why I have them on my car. I run the AWE Gen 2. PM Sambo, he can help you out.
Thanks for the help. The Fabspeed comes with 200 Cell CATS so I wonder how loud it is on the inside with the CATS but no mufflers and an X pipe? Waiting for someone with this setup to chime in.
France the systems you mentioned are both great in their own way. They offer different things in my opinion. It all depends on what you want and what you perceive sound levels and drone to be. I have sold and installed/driven both as well as many others. Feel free to call text email or PM me!

I was lucky enough to get a ride in this car before deciding on the BBI exhaust....and I have never second guessed my decision. It's actually very quiet in the cabin below 2,000 RPM in normal mode so you can have a phone call or zone out or listen to music whatever...but spin it to redline and wow, never knew a Porsche Turbo could come close to sounding like an exotic. The hollow sound is what the best attribute of this car - GT3-esque.
I really don't understand when people come on here for exhaust advice and say they have done their research, then are fixed on a sh** exhaust. OP, if you know there is drama with fabspeed and how crap their QC is, why do you want to spend that kind of money?
The answer to all exhaust threads is simple.
BBI
Kline
Europipe
GMG
AWE
From these 5, decide who you like, and go buy from them. IMO Kline and BBI are the best. From my own personal experience BBI and Kline have absolutely zero drone. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
I have Tubi Race on my 997.1 and love it. I do not notice any drone in the cabin, for what it is worth. I have not had any issue with being "catless" with emissions and do not have any CEL. Attached are the before and after dynos for the exhaust, in case you wanted to see power gains. These were taken right after install so not sure if the ECU tune (EVOMS) was fully re-calibrated yet.
Thanks to all whom have answered so far, I really appreciate your expertise and experience. So far this a great community and happy to be part of it.
Speedster, I just did a little homework and found some drama but did not come to a conclusion that the Fabspeed was Crap or low quality. I actually thought it looks good and sounds good in some videos I have seen. I was leaning towards the Fabspeed until I was told that the X-pipe causes a lot of interior noise so I took a step back thought I would ask for some help. I come from the AMG world and the AMG exhaust is very low and throaty... I like this sound. I'm trying to find an exhaust that has this type of character without compromising interior quietness as much as possible. Obviously I want to get as much power with the exhaust also. I will check out closely your recommendations and I appreciate your help with this.
Could anybody chime in about bypass valves? I don't know much about this configuration. I saw a video about IPE Valvetronic bypass and the exhaust sounded pretty deep and throaty.

My Europipe is one of the deepest bassy sounds out there but a Porsche turbo is never going to sound as good as an AMG.

Go search on rennlist and you'll see.

+1. If you want the closet thing to an AMG sound, europipe by far is the lowest pitch sounding exhaust. BBI I would recommend as a second.
My personal preference is for BBI over europipe. The kline is the highest pitch so take that off the table. But they do custom exhaust, so they could tune the sound lower I imagine if you want to go that route.
My point is there are a lot of people out there who pretty much 99% of reviews are in their favor, for customer service, materials, quality, sound. I suggest you choose from that list that is all. I don't really care though, not my money .
But none of these will sound as good as an AMG, but europipe may be the closest since it's very deep sounding.
