Is there an ECU reflash/tuner that offers rev matching for 6MT on 997.1 turbos?
Is there an ECU reflash/tuner that offers rev matching for 6MT on 997.1 turbos?
Just curious as this is a feature that a lot of newer manual cars have, and it seems like it was offered on other cars via aftermarket tuning of the past 5ish years, so I was curious if it's now available for 997.1 cars thru the aftermarket.
I did some searching on the sites for APR, Open Flash, AWE/GIAC, Cobb, etc - But wasn't able to find much more info besides the power output and map switching abilities.
Does any ECU reflash or tune software currently offer this for 997.1TT?
Thanks all

I never thought about software potentially being able to do this; that would be awesome!
I just purchased a 997.1 Turbo this week after having 2 dual clutch cars (997.2 Carrera w/PDK and E92 M3 w/DCT). I love driving a manual, but am definitely needing to improve my rev-matching capabilities (probably pathetic, I know), and it's annoying to know the newer Porsche manuals do this. I drove my friend's 6MT 991 GTS and the rev-matching was very helpful.
Unfortunately, I got into DE events with dual clutch cars and I think I'll be practically starting over until I get proficient with rev-matching in a performance oriented setting, so a tune that could do this would be amazing!

I am not sure if they make a model for the 997, however a friend of mine has a Z06 and he can't rev-match to save his life. He ended up installing an "Auto-Blip" into the car which rev matches electronically for him. He says its "almost" as good as being able to actually heel toe. Maybe look into them?

I would love to have this option. Since our accelerator is fly-by-wire, it could be possible. I would like to have the option to disable it as I do want to learn heal-toe shifting. When it comes to DE driving, if the option was available, I would use it as it take away one aspect of high speed driving that is a big distraction and risky on the track when you are just learning the skill.

I have heal and toe tabs on two of my Porsches and I practice every time I drive.
IMHO technology rules! PDK is awesome, my wife drives a 981S PDK. 6MT is still very cool, both my Porsches have 3 pedals. 6MT is even cooler (IMHO) when you don't have to think about blipping the throttle to rev-match.

When I first heard the term Heel & Toe about 16 years ago, it took me a while to understand WTF that was. The main reason being that most pros that do it DO NOT heel & toe, they actually blip the gas with the right edge of the foot while pressing the brakes with the ball of their foot (big toe). That doesn't mean that ALL do it that way. Its just a different way to do it but the term is still call the same.
That being said and as other have mentioned, after learning how to do it, it changes everything, the dynamic and enjoyment of driving a manual car goes to another level altogether.
I can see the benefit of having the rev-match software for a lot of folks and I think it would be awesome. For me though, I LOVE rev matching on my own and no software will take that away from me
Cheers,

On the other hand, I have a buddy who cannot for the life of him figure this out....he has gone through a slew of cars over the years with MTs (and a couple of 911s) in the mix, none of which lasted more than a couple of months because of the shifting issues. He has settled on one with slappy paddles and something new and not German, that he won't let me see yet until its upgrades are done (says it has a stick so maybe with the rev-matching) .
It's also no fun without a great sounding exhaust ,i recently had to put my stock exhaust back on & drive it for the weekend in order to get smogged , & rev matching just wasn't the same when you can't hear it .
