I haven't been able to determine what the difference is and I'm trying to decide which set to get. Anyone have any opinions?

There was a thread a while ago about whether to change the waterpump prophylactically or wait till it causes problems. Looks like there is a revised part number which has a composite blade (as opposed to metal) part number 99710601172. Anyone have any updated advice about whether to make the change when other stuff is being done vs. wait till it causes problems?
The new coils will come with new, longer bolts.

From a prior post;

The OEM coil for the 997 is the Beru 997-602-104-00 (Beru internal # ZS178)

The updated coil is thicker where the bolts go through (perhaps to prevent them cracking?) And so they come with longer attaching bolts in the box.

That updated version is 997-602-104-02-M47

Pelican sells 6 of those for $222 with free shipping.

P.s. Were you into something when writing about the water pump?

Hans,

Thank you for clarifying. I now fully understand the modification you described.

Good work! I took a slightly different approach and modded the coil Two ways to skin that cat. So far, so good,. No issues.
