Coming from E-Gear Gallardo to 997.2 TTS
My wife often tells me TTS makesa little dizzy from the power push; I dont feel it much from behind the wheel, but I do see headlights disappear
so I guess something is happening and thusher little dizziness. Is this car thatsmoothly quick/fast that it deceives you?

I came from a c6z to my 997.1tt. I think your observation is absolutely right...the tt is just so smooth the speed generation is deceiving. The c6z was just a brutal wild ride and yes it would accelerate too ,mine was stock). In the tt it is just not an event and the only way to tell is by watching against other cars, gotta have some perspective. Not as much so in the z. I had to mod my 911 to get close to the same feeling as the stock z06.
That is so true brotha. The Z lets you know that you're moving, while the P-car, especially the .2TTS with PDK is somewhat more civilized in terms of letting you know that your doing tripple digits.
When I first got this car, I was like: "dude, this thing is slow" LOL I only got to really feel something in Sports Plus and when using LC. But then as I began to appreciate the car more and more, it hit me - it is not slow, just more refined and it goes by its business totally different. Turbo lag will never fully go away - that is just part of the nature with turbocharged applications. I had other turbo cars in the past and they are all behaved roughly the same way...wait for it...then boom!
Mr. Longboarder,
Cool deal, thank you much for all your inputs
What you described makes perfect sense. I knew something seemed a little off - my butt dyno is not the most accurate, but accurate enough to know something was different. Perhaps that is why I felt that it was quicker to footbrake to 3K and launch vs using LC. Like you, I was cutting 2.7's all day long with stock tune - now with the new stage II tune, the best I can get is 3.2's to 3.3's. Wow, aren't we spoiled...low 3's is not slow, but mid to low 2's is better
I mentioned my gut feelings to [tuner] Todd K and he thought I was crazy; stating that there is no way I'm going backwards - powerwise. He asked me to scan and once he looked at my datalogs, he assured me that all is well (Tuned paramenters, PDK shifts and so on) and that I needed to get stickier tires. The problem is, I just installed BRAND NEW stock sized Bridgestones tires about 4mons back
So...I guess things are going to get even worse once I do my exhaust install and other little goodies later on this week. No current plans for IC install, but I better make up my mind soon since the car is coming apart in 3 days and that would be the time to do IC's.
So let me ask, are there any other tire options for these cars besides the Toyos vs my current BS in terms of better grip, size and low tire noise? I had toyos in the Gallardo and those ****'s drove me nuts due to all the tire noise, but they sure gripped though...the noise worsen as tires wore down.
Thank you in advance for ALL your help

Cheers.
No sorry I don't have any further advice regarding tires. Pirelli Corsas maybe? I guess now you know that you just can't use launch control any further because the amount of power at 5,000 RPM will over power your tires. So keep brake boosting for now until you can find better tires.

They would probably be good for roll racing and weigh a few lbs less than r888s but they kinda suck for launching
I tried Corsas and while they are definitely sticky, they aren't when using LC. Plus they have stiff sidewalls and even dropping tire pressure made it worse.

So I guess I'm either stuck with my current BS tires or get some of those noisy Toyos tires. Or just footbrake. BTW, my tuner suggested doing a PDK adaptation. I have Durametric, but I do not think I can use it to complete such adaptation.

Perhaps I can ask my Tuner to back off the power/boost a little, or return TQ mgmt or whatever back to stock settings in 1st gear. Maybe this will allow me to LC like stock, while having the car come on like gangbuster the rest of the way.
What do you guys think?
Any tuners out there? I am willing to pay for this option if possible. Meaning, take my current tuned file, edit it to help me launch and send back to me.
Thanks,
E-Gear
I have an appt with dealer for a PDK recalibration.
Thanks,
